Bayelsans React As Gov. Diri Abandons Tombia Round About Expansion Project For A Minor LGA Project

The news of Bayelsa state Government's plans, to rehabilitate over 50 internal roads, in Yenagoa, came as a surprise, to all residents of Yenagoa.
The Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure in state, Surveyor Moses Teibowei, who made the announcement yesterday; while inspecting some roads, within Yenagoa, the capital city; stated that, "Bayelsa State Government has concluded plans, to rehabilitate over fifty internal roads, that are in deplorable conditions in Yenagoa''.

He reportedly stated that, the rehabilitation of these roads, have all been approved; and that, most of the jobs, would be given to indigenous contractors to handle.

However, this new development, has generated mixed reactions, from the residents of the state.
A lot of Yenagoa residents, are of the opinion that, this new development is uncalled for; as, even the Tombia round about expansion, which was supposed to be the first project initiated by, Sen. Douye Diri's administration, has been abandoned.
The residents of Yenagoa, are furious over how, the Tombia round about expansion Project was abandoned. It was reportedly said that, the small round about project wouldn't take up to 3 weeks; but, it's over 5 months now, and the on-going work has been stopped,  with only 10 percent progress made.
It's over 8 months, since Diri has been in office; but, no single project has been successfully initiated and completed.

Right now, the development of Bayelsa, should be given placed above all. And, we plead with the administration of Douye Diri, to work efficiently and, not to use litigations, as an excuse for not developing the state.
