Peaceful Protest Ongoing In Bayelsa: Group Charges Dickson To Allow All Aspirants Contest The Central Senatorial BYE-ELECTION Or Face Massive Failure

It is no news that, the immediate past Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Serieke Dickson, is also aspiring to go to the Senate, by all means.

However, PDP supporters in the state, have taken to the street, to protest against imposition of candidate by the Governor.

They request for a free and fair process, in choosing a candidate; and also, urge the former Governor,  not to interfere in Bayelsa central senatorial Bye-election.

Since, the former Governor, who is also in the race, from the Bayelsa West; the PDP supporters request for a free contest, where all aspirants, are allowed to contest; and, not one, where the former Governor is imposed on the people, or other aspirants, being imposed on the people at the Bayelsa Central.

The protest was prompted, when the former Speaker of the House of Assembly, and a 3 term Assembly member, Hon. Obolor, was screened out, that he isn't a Member of the PDP.

The question is, on what platform was he elected 3 times to the Assembly, since the screening body, said he is not a member of the PDP?

Notable captions from the placards held are:
- Douye Diri Build our Dear Party and don't Scatter it!

- Say No to Nepotism and  Favouritism!

- Dont Destroy our Party with your Greed.

- We will not accept another 8 years of incompetence been imposed on us.
