Flying Officer Tolulope Oluwatoyin Sarah Arotile was born on 13th of December, 1995. She was born to the family of Mr and Mrs Akintunde Arotile in Kaduna.

Flying Officer Arotile is from, Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State.

She was really destined to serve in the Nigerian Air Force; as, all of the schools she attended, were the Air Force Institutions.

Primary School: Air Force Primary School, Kaduna from 2000 – 2005.

Secondary School: Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna from 2006 – 2011.

University: She is a member of the 64th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna; where she bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.

She joined the Nigerian Air Force out of her strong passion for the job.

In her words -

“Being a military personnel has been a long time ambition, the carriage and what it stands for are simply exceptional”.

She was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force, as a Pilot Officer, on the 16th day of September, 2017.

She became the first female combat helicopter pilot, in the Nigerian Air Force, on the 15th of October, 2019; after completing her flying training in South Africa.

She is also a licensed commercial pilot; and, has also completed tactical flying training on the Agusta 109 Power Attack Helicopter, in Italy.

Fortunately, she introduced the newly acquired Agusta 109 Power Attack Helicopter, to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, during the induction ceremony at the Eagle Square in Abuja on 6 February 2020.

So much achievements for a young officer.

Sadly, her Promising career, was cut short, on the 14th of July, 2020, at the age of 24; when, she was hit by the reversing vehicle of an excited former Air Force Secondary School classmate, while trying to greet her.

Before her untimely death, she has significantly and outstandingly contributed to the war against terrorism, armed banditry and others, in the Country.

She will be greatly missed by the entire Armed Forces, and Nigerians.
